Four simple words that elude so many of us: Getting Your Act Together. We use this phrase day in and day out without even thinking too deeply about it. For many of us, getting our act together simply means having the ability to create financial freedom or time freedom or just quitting the rat-race. One of the easiest ways for a person to get their act together is to start a home online business that will throw off some side income. Eventually the effort you put forth should blossom into a nice income stream which should allow you to get your act together!
So now the question becomes, “What home business are you going to start to help you in getting your act together”. Of all the home businesses that I have seen, I think the one that is easiest to learn and has the ability to bring long lasting finacial freedom is affiliate marketing. You simply sign on with a company or product, promote it online and reap the benefits of a commission when ever you make a sale. There are no hassles with inventory, returns, shipping, etc. etc.
Recently, I have been spending much time thinking about life, death, retirement, finances and all the things one usually thinks about when getting your act together. I came across some government statistics that shocked me so much that I now feel an even greater pressure to get my act together. With that being said, here is what I discovered:
For every 100 working people who want to retire by age 65 we see the following alarming stats:
*** 1% are wealthy***
*** 4% have adequate assets/capital saved for retirement***
*** 3% are still working (and probably will not be able to stop)***
*** 63% are dependent on Social Security, friends, relatives or charity OR THEY WOULD BE IN TROUBLE***
*** 29% are dead***
But wait it gets even better…here are some more stats on our so called “The GOLDEN Years”
Culled from the U.S. Government’s Retirement Stats:
*** The average savings of a 50 year old in the U.S. is $2500***
*** 32 Million Americans are currently threatened with bankruptcy***
*** More than 1,500,000 people filed for bankruptcy in the year 2010***
***Out of every 100 people who reach the retirement age of 65:
*** 62 retire with less than $25,000 in assets and depend on Social Security or family for their retirement***
*** Another 35 retire with less than $100,000, and have some form of pension in addition to Social Security and are just making it in their retirement. If either Social Security or their pension went away they would have a very difficult time surviving***
*** 2 of the 3 remaining retirees have an adequate pension or retirement account. They have assets of between $100,000 and $750,000. They do appreciate having the additional money they receive from Social Security, but could survive without it***
*** The last of these 100 retirees, is the only one who is financially independent. This retiree has assets approaching or exceeding $1,000,000. They do not need the income from Social Security at all)***
In closing, I hope I have caused you to start thinking more deeply about getting your own act together. If you visit my site, I will share many more ideas I have about starting your own home business to achieve the dream of financial freedom or time freedom or anything else you wish for. So until we meet again, stay happy and healthy.
Sincerely
Chris
