I want to talk about some basic Sc2 tactics along. A totally things I’ve noticed are overlooked.
The first is our pet peeve, watch the battles. Use attack move, what this means is when you have your units selected clicking A for Attack then click where you need your troops to go. In this way if something comes near your troops that they can attack they will.
I’ve come across countless beginners march their units to death by lacking them Attack move. Right clicking moves your units however they won’t attack anything of their way, they will march directly into death.
Like I noted prior to other tactic is always to really watch the battles. Some units are slower than others, you need to be using and terrain to your benefit. Do you think you’re losing the battle? Back out as you still have units left! Approach to many players will stick around inside a losing battle!
Ensure you use ever ability you are able to in battle and learn which abilities counter which units. The Protoss Sentry is surely an incredibly flexible caster that can make or break many different battles with both its shields and its ability to block off ramps.
Being a Zerg player make sure you constantly have Spawn Larvae going off from your Queen, there is certainly never a period when this isn’t needed. Also increase your Creep constantly, this is the highway throughout the map. And yes it intimidates other players when they have to march through Creep. Use Overlords to build Creep where they’d like to expand thus preventing it. Zerg can also burrow Zerglings at expansions to avoid buildings from getting larger.
Protoss should build a Pylon at Zerg’s first expansion to prevent an instant expand, a great tactic. With Protoss make sure you keep the Chrono Boost low, so that your constantly recharging. Same with Terran, the Command Center should always use its energy. Remember as Terran you could have more than one Mule.
Get acquainted with each unit along with your chosen race, discover the build to each unit too. This will make you dynamic and strong in the game of Starcraft 2. Discover ways to counter harassment attacks for example Reapers, Void Rays, or Mutalisks. These attacks can definitely mess you up when you first start playing.
Always scout and scout often. This I can’t stress enough, scouting ‘s what separates good players from great players. I am hoping this Sc2 tactics guide can help you out.
