Can cleaning solutions be added to the water?
Only water must be used. For various reasons, it is better to use only waters without adding any cleaning solutions. If cleaning solutions are added, they can have a negative impact on the longivity of the steam mop’s boiler
Secondly, the additive could contain some poisonous substances that could form part of the steam and impact your health when you inhale the vapor during use.
For these reasons, do not add anything but water to the Steam Pocket Mop.
Again, if even you get the Shark Fresh Breeze Mister that some buyers of the Shark Steam Pocket Mop get that is used to apply an awesome Fresh scent to your cleainging pads before use to release the beautiful smell, don’t add it to the water in the tank of the Shark steam pocket mop. It can cause the same problem as mentioned above.
Is Tap Water recommended?
Tap water is ok to use in the Steam Pocket Mop. Distilled water is better for the longest boiler life.
That said, if you live in a location where your water is hard, never even try to use tap water. Use distilled water if you want to increase the life span of your shark steam pocket mop.
Can filtered water be used instead of distilled water?
Distilled water is best. We have learned that distilled water is empty of all minerals and undergoes a multi-step process to be classified as distilled. However, filtered water is indeed better than unfiltered for the boiler life.
