You need someone who offers you more than the latest motivational book or CD, but someone who can truly teach you the rules of the game. Just as a great basketball coach will teach you the fundamentals of dribbling, passing and shooting; a great multi level marketing coach will teach you the fundamentals of marketing, lead generation and distributor recruiting. A great coach will not be satisfied unless you are successful in your own business.
Every MLM distributor should know that network marketing is a business and not a hobby! This business works best when it is treated like a business. Success in MLM requires you to move from the mindset of an employee into the world of the entrepreneur. One of the greatest things your coach will do for you is to help you think as a business owner. As with any business that is being formed, your network marketing will require hard work on your part. The more effort that you put forth on a consistent basis, the greater your long term reward will be. Become a student of the dynamics of business. Learn valuable skill sets such as online marketing, writing sales copy, selling and leadership skills. As a serious business student, you should be reading a minimum of one book per month that will expand your abilities in these areas.
Finally every network marketing distributor needs to understand that they are the primary product. Most distributors make the mistake of thinking that their health drink, cosmetics, etc…is the product. In reality the individual is the product. You must get your arms around the idea that people typically buy from people they know and trust. You can have the best products in the world, but if you have failed to properly promote yourself in the marketplace, no one will buy them from you. All of your marketing efforts need to be built around “the you” brand. This first of all frames you in the marketplace as a leader in your field or niche. Secondarily, it gives you flexibility should you need to change companies at some point. In this scenarior your customers will follow, because they are connected to you as an individual. Again your network marketing coach should be able to assist you in the area of personal branding in the marketplace.
