Every single man and woman on earth has the ability to astral project. It’s not something which only a few can do - in fact, the only difference between those people who can astral project at will and those who rarely do so is practice!
The practice of astral projection has a very long history, just like meditation and yoga. There are many different names by which astral projection is known and many ways that you can astral project.
Lucid dreaming is the first level of astral projection. This form of dreaming is when you consciously dream and one type is astral projection. Many say this is a simple form of projection and that while you are dreaming, you begin by telling yourself ‘I am dreaming’
Doing this lets you take the reins in your dreams - but it takes a while to master this, making it not the best way for beginners to astral project.
You have already astral projected, even if you are not specifically aware of it.
When you awake from a dream and are able to remember every detail vividly, down to the very smallest elements, you have had an experience of astral projecting. You may have had this happen to you many times - this shows you that you can astral project!
The key element to astral projection is to know that you can do it. This will help erase any fears or doubts that you may have that could be keeping you from being able to astral project.
Relaxation techniques like meditation can help you to astral project successfully. Meditation is an especially good method of preparing yourself to astral project. You’ll just need to find a regular routine of meditation which works for you.
One simple way to meditate is sitting in a comfortable spot in a quiet room free of distractions. Get comfortable and clear your mind of all thoughts.
If negative thoughts continue to work there way back into your head, just continue to push them out. Breathing deeply is the next step, focus on slow, deep breaths. This practice will help you reach ultimate relaxation and help you to transition into astral projection.
To reach an altered state of consciousness, focus more and more on you breathing, which should be slow and deep.
Breath in through the nose and out of the mouth which helps to slow and deepen breathing.
Begin with your toes and move on up your body telling each part to relax. When you breathe out, tell each part of your body to relax. You can also tense the muscles up first and then relax them, whichever works best for you.
You will begin to feel heavy, as if all your energy and stress is going away as you relax each part of your body. You will notice when this happens. Once this occurs in your entire body, you are ready to move on to the next step in astral projection.
The next step, sleep. You have prepared your mind and body for s deep sleep, but remember to stay alert and relaxed. Come up with your own phrase such as ‘I fly, I fly’ there is no wrong motto, so find one that you are comfortable with.
The human mind will wander when it is unoccupied by anything else; this can break the concentration necessary to astral project. To stay on track towards astral projecting, just keep repeating your phrase.
To reach the state of altered consciousness you can use the phrase you chose or another way. The body of light method involves picturing an area of light that you will change into. Picture the light in your mind and imagine yourself going into it and becoming a part of it.
There are three signs to watch for that will indicate that you are beginning to astral project. One is having a sensation of motion, followed by ‘seeing’ light and color (even though your eyes will be closed).
Finally you will hear voices - these voices may urge you to stop what you’re doing or provide encouragement to keep going; this will let you know that you are astral projecting.
