China Export

Recently, there has been a rash of complaints about some of China’s exported goods that have caused consumer problems because they aren’t up to internationally accepted quality standards. It would appear that, much the same as the rest of the world, the multinational businesses who do the buying and the global sourcing communities want to know more about this.

The product quality of Chinese exports has always been an issue. However, from a positive perspective these exports drew complementary remarks because China has been able to keep manufacturing cost to a minimum while maintaining international quality standards. Global sourcing companies consider this fact to be the result of the increasing Chinese exports to Western European Countries and the United States was clearly depending on this standard of quality while at the same time keeping production costs to a minimum which is that no multinational buying agent can deny.

Japan is global sourcing goods from the United States and from Europe in addition to China, including food products. This is what Japan’s Ministry of Health reported based on laboratory tests.

. Exported food products from Europe; 99.38 percent.
. Exported food products from the United States; 98.69 percent.
. China exported food products; 99.42 percent.

The Chinese government and China’s manufacturers of goods that are exported consider the discrepancies in quality assurance are attributable to the lack of awareness in small numbers of China goods manufacturers that are exported. But, multinational and global sourcing businesses are starting to enquire about what actions China will try to implement.

There are ways that the Chinese government can make sure that demands by the countries that are importing the goods in addition to the global sourcing and multinational companies exporting Chinese goods meet quality standards. In the first place the provincial governments are charged with much higher responsibilities that can impose prohibition and restrictions on some goods that are exported from China in the name of plants, animals, the environment, safety to human life, and health. If China violates this they can be suspended of their export license for a period of between one and three years. They can also face criminal charges.

Multinational and global sourcing buying agencies have tried to blacklist those companies that are being taken care of by some policing departments in order to keep track of and do away with those suppliers in China that are exporting inferior products from traders and manufacturers. Multinational and global sourcing businesses have requested that the list of blacklisted businesses be published and this has been agreed to.
