Over the past two days, there has been a lot of talk around the upcoming film, Man of Steel, directed by Zack Snyder. This seems pretty shocking considering that the movie is not due out until summer of 2013.
The main role (Superman) is going to be played by Henry Cavill, the British actor who is most known for his character in the TV show, Tudors. He also has the main role of Theseus in the ancient epic, Immortals, which is due out this November.
Henry Cavill has been training to look like the man of steel for some time now. He was put on a strict workout regiment and diet for Immortals. He participated in intensive circuit training to get his body down to 6% body fat and develop jaw dropping abs. A few days ago, Henry Cavill finally sat down and talked about his training and diet to get into superman shape.
He didn’t reveal much about he plot of the movie. We can expect that this movie will contain a lot of physical hand to hand combat, since that’s Zack Snyder’s style. Henry mentioned about eating over 5,000 calories a day to bulk up for his superman role.
Cavill explains, ” I’m on 5000 calories a day…You got to eat the protein first, then a little bit of carbs. You have got to keep your hunger levels going. I’m training two and a half hours a day, pushing my body beyond it’s normal limits and putting on a lot of muscle mass and just making myself look like Superman”
While we still don’t know what his workout exactly is, we know that his Immortals workout was mostly likely the 300 Workout, an intensive circuit training routine. http://www.henrycavillworkout.info
