I just got back from running some errands today and was listening to the radio when a song by Rodney Atkins came on and it made me look back over my years in MLM. It is good to look back sometimes and see just how far I have come. The song says that, “if you’re going through hell, keep on going” and it made me think of how it was when I went full-time in Network Marketing back in 2007. Stay with me on this ride down memory lane and I think it will help you a lot too!
You see, I had just started to realize that mortgages were going down hill fast and had actually jumped from residential mortgages to commercial mortgages trying to hold things together. At this point I had been in a few MLM’s already and had the vision when a friend of mine called and said that I had to look at something that was awesome and even though I didn’t like the hype I did. I saw that opportunity and decided that I would refer all my loans to others in the company I was with and pursue this business full-time and joined that day.
Well, after doing pretty well in mortgages I thought that I was going to come in and show my upline how it was done and the results were. horrible! I went through over 1300 leads before I ever made a sell in this company, but guess what? That sell got me so excited that I actually decided to follow the leader and do as my upline did and within 2 weeks I had 3 more sales and some cash flow coming in! I was hooked!
The fact is that I have been hooked ever since and although my company has changed, the MLM model still works. So I quickly went from going through hell in my MLM to keeping it simple and making a full-time income ever since.
So how can this story help you? Well, I would say to keep on going and give it some time. You have to remember that this is a business that you are starting and that people will say no. With that being said. people will say yes too! A lot of them once you get a system in place and a funnel that works. Follow the leader and you will see success. Just remember that Rome wasn’t built in a day and your business won’t be either. Just keep on going and follow the leaders that are having results. Use their systems and it will take you out of the equation for a bit till you have some success.
One of the things that kept me from success and one that took me over 1300 leads to figure out is that we have to keep it simple and make it look simple for our prospects and new recruits. That is why it is critical to join a team that has a proven funnel and system into place that gives simple steps to follow and brings about results. So if your team doesn’t have that I would recommend finding someone in your upline who does or even moving on. Keep on going and you will find success!
