An hour To Clear Objectives

I believe that most people would agree that the those who have goals are more successful than those who do have no.

I frequently talk about leadership and management. Leadership is about doing the right things whilst management is all about doing things right. Frequently when we study time management, all of us study efficiency (doing things right) making the assumption that we have the effectiveness (leadership) solved.

The initial step in any personal time management system should be to work on objectives and as such, I personally use the following 60 Minute Goal setting techniques Exercise.

Step 1: at the top of a blank piece of paper jot down ???values??? and then invest 10 to 15 moments writing down everything that you worth. There is a great website: world wide web.stevepavlina.com/ that has a list of several hundred ideals to start the mind thinking in the right direction. After the time is up, cease doing this as well as move to Step two.

Step 2: towards the top of a blank sheet of paper write down ???lifetime goals???. This is where you can dream; for example, what places would you like to visit; exactly what experiences would you like to have; an amount you like to achieve within your life time. This might consist of traveling to Australia; getting a college degree; living in an By square foot home, etc. There aren’t any rules for this brainstorming ??? just make a list.

I’ve done this goal setting techniques exercise many times and I often use the exact same list of lifetime goals and add to the checklist each time I do the exercise.

Step 3: towards the top of a blank piece of paper write down what you will do if you had six months to live. This the main exercise truly came the place to find me now when among my good friends died at 36 years of age. Some of us may have only six months to live; however, we may not know it however. List exactly what you would do if you had only six months to live. Part of the reason for this physical exercise that I found works well for me is that it provides the truly important in to focus. Often I find things that I would perform if I experienced only six months to live that aren’t listed on my life time objectives.

Step 4: towards the top of a blank sheet of paper write down your goals with this year. Following doing the very first three actions, you will find this step much easier compared to others. These are the goals to pay attention to NOW.

This particular total exercise will only consider an hour. An hour or so spent clarifying your objectives can save you countless hours.
