Banned From Google Adsense For Life - How To Avoid It

April 10, 2024
By

If you have a website or blog, then you can get started with Adsense today as it is pretty simple to implement on any site. Of course you need site visitors to make any money with Adsense, and the particular market you are in will determine your income along with your traffic numbers. One of the main problems for people who lose their Adsense accounts is they violate one of Google’s rules, or terms of service, and then that is all it takes.

What do you have to watch out for when you are running Adsense on your sites? Is there anything at all you can do to protect your Adsense account?

One thing you should never do is log in to your AdSense account from a third party computer, as this suggests to Google that you may be committing click fraud. So obviously you want to avoid click fraud, but you also have to be careful not to do anything that could even suggest this. You shouldn’t, therefore, log on to your account from work or from a friend’s computer. Google will be able to tell, for example, if you sign in to your account from a computer belonging to a friend and then, at another time, this friend clicks on an ad when visiting your site. Logging on from work can also create problems, as your office probably uses a proxy network, which means that every computer will have the same IP address, so from Google’s point of view they’re all the same computer.

When you get your ad blocks in place, be extremely careful that you do not call any special attention to the ads. Google has everything set up in the code you put on your site, and you do not have to do anything. Google obviously doesn’t want it’s advertisers misunderstand their policy and have their publishers misuse their platform to generate more clicks. Unfortunately that will be looked at as you are inciting click fraud, and the punishment will no doubt be appropriate. So ensure that all your ads are labeled correctly.

You can safeguard your account by logging on to it regularly and being on the lookout for any activity that seems suspicious. If something doesn’t look right, you should report this to Google as soon as possible. You shouldn’t be afraid to report the details of what’s going on, as you’re just reporting something you’ve noticed and you’re volunteering this information. The way you could get banned would be to do nothing and wait for Google to notice the issue; in this case, they may hold you responsible.

The best thing is to read their policies and then go out and send traffic to your site. Google is well known for totally enforcing their rules in all of their programs, so just keep that in mind when you are dealing with them. So respect what the do’s and don’ts that are given by them, so that you may see a high return on your time investment.
